The pencil draws
The view comes down from above onto the walnut desk, all the way to the leather diary. The pencil traces in a single line the apple that’s the tip of an iceberg, and the graphite appears exactly where the point passes.
Dietitian in Terni: a website that starts from listening, like his work.

Dr. Roberto De Luca has been a dietitian since 2008 and sees patients at his practice in Terni. He was a veterinarian first; today he holds a master’s in the nutritional needs of athletes and one in the clinical treatment of eating disorders. He works with athletes and competitors, pregnancy and breastfeeding, eating disorders, obesity and medical conditions, children and older people.
He believes food is only the tip: underneath lies the story of the person sitting across from him. The website shows that from the start. On his diary, open on a walnut desk, a pencil draws in a single line an apple that’s the tip of an iceberg, with a face and a heart below the surface. Watercolour fills the water and that blue becomes the next section.
From there you meet the “relational diet”, the people he works with, the method leafed through on the pages of the diary where he notes his appointments, sport from dance to MotoGP, and the ensō, the Zen circle we designed as his brand mark. His professional background has a page of its own, with the original documents. Before choosing a visit you read how it works, roughly how long it lasts and when it’s better to come to the practice.
The view comes down from above onto the walnut desk, all the way to the leather diary. The pencil traces in a single line the apple that’s the tip of an iceberg, and the graphite appears exactly where the point passes.
In the section on who he sees, each entry has its own sheet of paper. As you scroll, the pencil draws the figure in one continuous line, then comes the watercolour, which can go over the line the way a brush does: readers look for themselves in the list and find a drawing instead of a stock photo.
The five steps of the journey sit on the pages of the diary, reproduced from the real one where Dr. De Luca notes his appointments. Listening, measurements and weight, bioimpedance, a tailored plan, independence: at each step the page turns, by scrolling or dragging it, and a new drawing is traced on the sheet.
A sentence from his notes appears in pencil on a slip of paper, and Dr. De Luca signs below it on the spot. It’s his real signature: we took it from the original and it rewrites itself stroke by stroke, as if he were putting it there that very moment.
The same diary comes back at the bottom of the website, designed for booking appointments. On the left you choose the visit and, for follow-ups, whether to have it at the practice or by video call; on the right, the day and the time. Each choice updates the notes written on the page.
On his “About me” page, photos and documents sit in white Polaroid-style frames with handwritten captions. You browse them with the arrows and, at each change, the frame widens or narrows to follow the size of the photo, which always stays whole.
