Lanterna Service is a cleaning company working in Genoa and its province, in houses and villas, offices, shops, apartment buildings and newly renovated spaces. Its name comes from the city’s lighthouse, and that’s where the idea for the website came from: cleaning as light returning to things.
You enter a penthouse at blue hour, with a window cleaner at work and the Lanterna beyond the port. You pass through the glass, fly to the lighthouse and the page opens onto ivory. From there on it’s about the work: how the people coming in behave, seven services, a real job on an awning, the neighbourhoods covered and the free inspection, requested in five taps.
A window cleaner wipes the glass and beyond the port the Lanterna appears. As you scroll you move closer to the window, the frames leave the shot and the foreground runs faster than the background: that’s what gives the scene its depth.
Five high-definition images, one inside the other, form a single zoom all the way to the lighthouse. The light grows, dazzles and settles on the ivory of the next section, with no cuts.
The services scroll horizontally. Each photo arrives misted over and is wiped clean with one pass, like a window, and the gallery stops on each card to give you time to read.
